Segal is looking to expand its corporate market health consulting presence and capabilities in the East Region (i.e., Hartford). The Senior Consultant will join a growing and dynamic practice and step into a multi-faceted role that offers the opportunity to significantly and positively impact the growth of a group health consulting practice in the corporate market.
The Senior Consultant will collaborate with management and others in the Practice and Company to service the benefits consulting needs of Health clients in the Corporate marketplace. The role will involve significant client interaction to include assisting clients in defining their benefit program needs focusing on plan design, funding, administration and compliance for group health and managed care programs. The Senior Consultant assumes a leadership role over select client relationships, provides hands on project management for complex assignments, and collaborates closely with management and practitioners to develop and implement strategic and tactical plans to market and sell a full-range of employee benefits consulting services to clients and oversee the servicing of key client relationships. The incumbent will also demonstrate leadership by coordinating and/or contributing to initiatives designed to build intellectual capability, organization skill and know-how around the delivery of creative group benefit and managed care benefit programs. The incumbent will also assume accountability for multi-disciplinary projects to include planning/budgeting, quality assuring the delivery of work products and lead and participate in business development activities to grow the corporate market and Company revenue and profitability.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of corporate market-related consulting experience in the employee benefits area, possess strong knowledge of group health and/or managed care plans and be able to step immediately into a role that requires direct client interface. The ideal candidate must demonstrate strong underwriting and analytical skills, with credentials such as ASA or CEBS a positive. The individual will have demonstrated project management skills and ability to participate in business development activities. Also required are effective interpersonal and communication (oral/written) skills with ability to work collaboratively with a diverse audience of colleagues and clients.
