Marketing Coordinator - 272016SC

The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Marketing Coordinator to join the Segal Waters Consulting team in the Washington, DC office.  The Marketing Coordinator serves internal clients in a highly visible role interacting directly with Segal colleagues from across all markets (multiemployer, public sector and corporate) and other professionals to meet proposal/competitive bidding and other marketing needs. The coordinator will work both independently and as part of a team to manage the various aspects of the proposal process that includes writing and collaborating on new business proposals and presentations, scheduling and facilitating team strategy meetings related to proposal development, and determining process improvements to ensure high quality deliverables.

The Role

The Coordinator will have a diverse range of responsibilities that include:

  • Supporting the proposal process and assisting with maintaining the databases for new-business/proposal activity; tracking and following-up on RFPs and post-proposal processes including requests for Lost Opportunity Interviews; and developing reports based on the effectiveness of Segal's new business efforts;
  • Creating language and drawing from varied resources to produce proposals and marketing materials;
  • Collaborating with team members to peer review and edit each other's work to ensure high quality deliverables;
  • Participating in the development of finalist presentations;
  • Coordinating speaking engagements, sponsorships/attendance at industry conferences, giving and attendance to fund raisers for clients and prospects, and assisting with Segal sponsored seminars and webinars that may include exhibits, mailings and follow-up activity;
  • Collaborating with other members of Segal to maintain the accuracy and quality of sales and marketing collateral and other material distributed to external clients and prospects for business development purposes.
  • Assisting with other marketing functions as needed.

The Requirements

The qualified individual will have a Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, English or other related discipline; ability to demonstrate excellent writing, proofing and editing skills; proficiency in project and time management; and strong command of MS Office applications, specifically, Word, PowerPoint and Excel. The ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment is critical. Clear and concise verbal communication skills, diplomatic interpersonal skills, and ability to attend to detail while handling a high volume of work are also key required skills. High energy but also tact and poise are important qualities.  Writing samples will be required during initial phases of the interview process.
