We are currently seeking a Health Benefits Analyst to join the New York Region Health Practice. The Health Benefits Analyst is integral to supporting the delivery of a broad and diverse range of group health benefits consulting services to our clients. The health practice provides opportunities to work in the Multiemployer and Public Sector markets, and offers significant visibility and client interaction, and opportunities to perform as an influential member of client teams.
The Health Benefits Analyst works collaboratively with colleagues, clients, and vendors in providing analyses, data interpretation, research, communications and related health consulting services in an integrated and thorough approach that meets clients' needs. Health Benefits Analysts perform these duties at a high level of proficiency to produce quality, error-free deliverables for clients. Responsibilities may include: preparation of bid specifications; analyses of proposals; preparation of quarterly and annual financial reports; renewal analyses; benefit plan pricing; analyses of complex technical data with regard to health benefit plans; preparing budget projections; claims cost analysis; and preparing claims curves for retiree health valuations.
The position is entry-level up to 3 years of health benefits experience. A Bachelor's degree is required, preferably within a math, actuarial science, or other quantitatively-oriented field of study. Critical skills include the ability to work independently with limited direction; strong analytical (data, statistics, math, technical, reasoning) skills; being decisive, action-oriented, and detailed; ability to thrive in fast-paced environment and manage stressful situations and multiple conflicting deadlines tactfully; proficiency in project management (managing projects within time constraints and budget parameters); excellent follow-through; proficiency using computer software; and strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal). The position is in the health practice so studies in health policy is a plus.
